Two Nova Scotia drivers charged with stunting half an hour apart: RCMP

Nova Scotia RCMP had a busy day on Friday as they charged two separate drivers with stunting — only half an hour apart.

At 2:48 p.m. RCMP recorded a Chevrolet Equinox going 169 km/h in a 110 km/h zone on Highway 104.

RCMP have charged a 19-year-old-man from New Victoria with stunting.  He had his license suspended for 7 days and his vehicle was also seized.

At 3:24 p.m., only 36 minutes later, a 42-year-old man from Pictou County was also charged for stunting on Highway 104. His vehicle was caught doing 163 km/h in a 100 km/h zone.

Both men face fines of $2,422.50.

Nova Scotia RCMP are reminding that speed is one of the major causes of serious injury and fatal collisions the province’s roads.
