What was deemed a ‘serious incident’ in northwest Winnipeg Friday afternoon turned out to be much ado about nothing.
Police received a call around 3:15 p.m. about ‘suspicious circumstances’ near King Edward Street and Jefferson Avenue.

Video captured from Skyview 1 showed multiple police cars on scene, and police tape blocking off one section of King Edward.
But after devoting ‘considerable resources’ to the investigation, police determined the initial report was unfounded.
