Halifax police are investigating after responding to a hit and run in Halifax on Thursday afternoon.

Police say they responded to a collision at 2:44 p.m. at the intersection of Robie and Young streets involving a motorcycle and pick-up truck. Spokesperson Dianne Penfound said the complainant had been driving their motorcycle south on Robie Street, approaching Young and pulled into the left turn lane. A pick-up truck in the middle lane turned into the left lane and struck the motorcycle. The motorcyclist was knocked to the ground and the truck turned left on Young Street and left the area.

The driver declined an interview with Global News, but in a post to Facebook Thursday evening acknowledged they were in a hit and run. She asked in the post for people to “keep an eye out for a dark gray Dodge Ram 4×4 truck” and said it “might have minor scratch right around the gas cap.”
