The National Hockey League will release the full 2017-18 regular season schedule on Thursday, but each of the 31 teams revealed their home openers on Wednesday. The Winnipeg Jets will kick off their new season on Wednesday, October 4th at Bell-MTS Place with an all-Canadian match up versus the Toronto Maple Leafs. And it will be a nail-biter, filled with plenty of Patrik Laine and Auston Matthews highlights,  if the two meetings during the 2016-17 campaign are any indication.

Each team won 5-4 in overtime on home ice, and Laine scored five goals in the two game series while Matthews countered with four assists.

The NHL also announced the expansion Vegas Golden Knights will play their first ever regular season home game on Tuesday, October 10th vs the Arizona Coyotes. The Golden Knights were set to reveal their roster from the expansion draft during the league awards ceremony on Wednesday Night.
