Earlier this year, the city issued a Request For Proposal (NRFP) for non-profit groups interested in leasing space in the landmark building on 100 Avenue and 156 Street.

The city is set to take ownership of the building in September 2017, five years after it began the work of setting out to buy it.

The city said rezoning the building will allow for a greater number of activities within the building including: art and culture programs, recreation, learning and wellness programs, not-for-profit office space, and small business services that support the overall vision.

The drop-in open house will be held Thursday from 4:30 to 8 p.m, in room #333 of the MacEwan West campus.
