Mike’s Monday Outlook: sun will give way to rain

WINNIPEG– It looks like the week will start sunny and give way to rain and more overcast conditions.

While the week is starting with the risk of severe weather, most of Monday will be spent under pleasant conditions around the Winnipeg area.

Severe weather is possible around southwestern Manitoba in the afternoon/evening Monday, with the main threat being strong winds, but hail is also possible.

Tuesday looks like the best day of the week. All across the south, conditions will be sunny and temperatures will peak in the low 20s. This is slightly below seasonal, but it will be the warmest day of the week because starting Wednesday, cloud cover will return and so will the rain.

Wednesday doesn’t look like it will be soaking wet. Around 5mm is projected for Winnipeg at this time, but later in the week there’s the chance of some more shower activity and temperatures are likely to be up to 20° C, but mostly below.

The rainiest day this week looks like Wednesday so don’t be too intimidated with the chance of precipitation later in the week. It looks more like scattered shower activity more than a rain event. And by the way, Wednesday is the first official day of summer.
