WINNIPEG — Lowe’s Canada has announced a new $34 million investment to bring a new store to Winnipeg in early 2018.
The new 95,000 square foot retail space will be located at 1799 Kenaston Boulevard, at the intersection of McGillivary Boulevard.
Executive vice president of Lowe’s Big Box Retail, Jim Calwell said the company is excited to open its first location in Manitoba.

“We believe this new store will allow us to become part of an established and active shopping hub, and will support our ongoing strategy to be the home improvement choice for Canadians. We are thrilled to be expanding into Winnipeg and see tremendous opportunity in this new market for us,” Caldwell said.

The new store is expected to create around 125 permanent jobs, with an additional 30 to 35 seasonal positions.
The new location is currently surrounded by other home improvement franchises. Both Home Depot and Rona are located within two kilometres.
