McGovern had a 3.60 ERA in two starts over the last seven days. He struck out 15 batters including a season-high eight in Sunday’s 5-2 victory over the Lincoln Saltdogs. The 28-year-old is tied for the league lead in wins with three.
McGovern is the third member of the Goldeyes to capture a weekly American Association award. Shawn Pleffner and Wes Darvill took home batting honours last month.

The Goldeyes are tied for first place in the North Division with the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks at 12-5. Winnipeg opens a six-game road trip in Sioux City against the Explorers on Tuesday.
