Winnipeg Blue Bombers finalize rookie camp roster

File / Global News

WINNIPEG – The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have signed four players, including 2017 CFL Draft pick Félix Ménard-Brière, just a few hours before the start of their rookie camp.

Ménard-Brière was drafted 34th overall by Winnipeg earlier this month. The kicker led U Sports in punting last year with a 42.4-yard average, earning him first team All-Canadian honours. His deal leaves Manitoba Bisons offensive lineman as the only un-signed draft pick. The Winnipegger is currently trying out for the NFL’s Green Bay Packers.

Joining Ménard-Brière on the roster are defensive tackle Cory Johnson, defensive end Caleb Bostic and lineman Trevan Brown.

Johnson spent time with the NFL’s Atlanta Falcons and Kansas City Chiefs following his senior season at Kentucky. Bostic put up 75 tackles and seven sacks during a six-season arena football career. Brown meanwhile started 41 games at left tackle in his four years at Miami Ohio.
