Damage is set at $300,000 in a downtown Hamilton house fire.

Just before 2 p.m. Friday afternoon, firefighters were called to a three-storey home at the corner of Cannon and Park streets.

Fire information officer Claudio Mostacci says all six adults who were in the home managed to get out safely.

He says one of them was sent to hospital with minor smoke inhalation.

Mostacci says two dogs died in the blaze, which caused extensive damage to the second and third floors of the house.

He says the cause of the fire is undetermined.
