The British new wave and synthpop band, formed in 1978, is best known for hits of the 80s and 90s including Hungry Like the Wolf, Rio, and A View to a Kill.

This will be the inaugural year for Roundup MusicFest, presented by the former producers of Stampede Roundup.

Stampede Roundup was held every year in July, but organizers announced in November they would be leaving their previous venue, Fort Calgary, saying it was “no longer compatible” with their “event needs.”

Roundup MusicFest is a corporate fundraiser, but event organizers said tickets will be available for members of the public to purchase.

A portion of the proceeds raised from the outdoor music festival will go towards the Calgary Military Family Resource Centre (MFRC), an organization that works to help Canadian Armed Forces military personnel and their families cope with the unique challenges a military lifestyle presents.
