Toronto police are asking for help from the public with an aggravated assault investigation in which a 55-year-old man was hurt in the downtown area.
Police say the victim was punched several times in the head, thrown to the ground and stomped on by another man late last Friday, just south of George Street and Gerrard Street East.
As a result of his injuries, the man was transported to hospital in critical condition.
Investigators have acquired security camera images from the night in question, which they believe are of the suspect.
That man, believed to have been wearing jeans with distressed thighs, fled the area southbound on George Street.
Police are urging anyone who witnessed the assault, or may have any information, to contact police at 416-808-5100, or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-222-TIPS (8477).
