Many of the city roads are narrow as crews continue to work to clear snow, but continuing snow fall and blowing snow is making it “very limited ability to deploy resources” to residential areas, the city said. The majority of sidewalks have also not been cleared.
Officials say Monday’s storm was one of the worst to hit the province in recent years. According to Nova Scotia Power (NSP), more than 5,000 customers are without power thanks to more than 200 outages across the province.

It’s estimated those customers will have their power restored by Tuesday evening. NSP says crews worked to restore power to more than 48,000 customers by 6 a.m. Tuesday, however high winds are making their efforts more difficult.
