Two boys and their father were found dead inside a Spruce Grove, Alta. home Monday, a family member confirmed to Global News.
The bodies discovered inside the home were those of Corry MacDougall and his sons, 13-year-old Ryder MacDougall and 11-year-old Radek MacDougall, Global News confirmed through multiple sources.
Brent Stark, the boys’ stepfather, spoke to Global News Monday evening. He said it was he and the boys’ mother who discovered the bodies and called police. He also said he believes Corry killed his sons.
“A coward of a dad took his life and took his own boys’ lives,” he said. “It’s excruciating. These are two good, young men that come from the town of Whitecourt, it’s a small community. Everybody loved them.”
“These boys were young. They were determined. They were mama’s boys. They were two young men growing up the way they should grow up, beautiful souls.”
Stark added the boys were enthusiastic hockey players who were dedicated to their family, sports and their education.

She said the scene was contained to the inside of the home.
Police said they are not looking for any suspects in connection with the deaths.
“I can say at no time do we believe that any of our neighbours or residents in the area were at risk at all,” Mueller said.
At around 4 p.m., Mounties could be seen moving at least two firearms from the garage into the back of RCMP vehicles.
Spruce Grove is about 20 kilometres west of Edmonton.
