A day after intense snow squalls battered the Greater Toronto Area, a Colorado low is bringing significant snowfall to southern Ontario Friday night and into Saturday.

Environment Canada said five to 10 centimetres of snow may fall with some localized areas seeing up to 15 centimetres.

The weather agency said with milder air coming in on Saturday, it could possibly cause the white stuff to change into rain for some regions.

The wintry weather conditions also caused delays for the GTA’s public transportation network. GO Transit, the Toronto Transit Commission and Pearson International Airport all experienced slow downs during Thursday’s snow squall.

Environment Canada is reminding the public to expect deteriorating winter travel conditions Friday evening and into Saturday.
