Christmas is around the corner and many are embracing the spirit of the season.

Some decorate their homes, while others choose to wear something festive.

That is exactly what one Irish MP did Thursday but it turned out to be a faux-pas.

While Irish MP Aengus O Snodaigh spoke about asbestos, his novelty necktie starting playing a merry tune in parliament.

We Wish You a Merry Christmas to be exact.

Apparently, the tie didn’t bring about Christmas cheer. Instead, Labour MP Jan O’Sullivan said O Snodaigh should “turn off those ties” as they “might interfere with Santa’s flight path.”

In a Tweet, MP Jim Daly said, “Delighted with my new Christmas tie given to me by @aosnodaigh after making  its Dail debut today.”

It seems O Snodaigh has decided to pass on his fashion sense to his fellow MP.
