City of Kelowna sanding truck rear ended on Gordon

A crash snarled morning traffic on one of Kelowna’s busy arterial roads.

It happened in the southbound lanes of Gordon Drive at the intersection with Cook Road.

A delivery truck smashed into the rear of a City of Kelowna sanding truck.

RCMP believe the driver of the delivery truck failed to brake, as there was no skid marks before the impact.

“It just appears that the driver wasn’t paying attention, didn’t notice the truck was slowing down in front of him and drove into the back of it,” Cst. Lise Marion said.

He and his passenger had to be cut out from the cab, but only sustained minor injuries.

The driver of the sanding truck was not injured.
