Winnipeggers just experienced the warmest November on record

WINNIPEG — If you go back through 144 years of record books, you will not find a November warmer than the one Winnipeg has just experienced.  The city’s daily mean temperature for November 2016 sits at 3.2 degrees Celsius.

The previous warmest months were in 1899 and 1923 when the mean temperature was 1.3 degrees Celsius. Records began being kept in 1872.

A typical November mean temperature sits near -4.9 degrees Celsius. At 3.2 degrees, Winnipeg’s daily temperatures are much closer to October’s average temperatures, 5 degrees Celsius.

According to Environment Canada, this is also the warmest November on record in Brandon and the second warmest in Dauphin.
