19-year-old crashes stolen vehicle in Saint-Michel

At approximately 2 a.m. Thursday, a 19-year-old man grazed the side of a building with a stolen vehicle on Jean-Talon Street East and 12th Avenue in the Villeray-Saint-Michel-Park-Extension borough.

The incident began when police spotted the vehicle with its headlights off.

“Police noticed and approached to advise the driver,” Raphaël Bergeron, Montreal police spokesman, said. “As soon as he saw the police car he took off.”

At that time the 19-year-old was travelling northbound on Pie-IX Boulevard. He then turned left on to Jean-Talon East and made another left on 12th Ave.

That’s where he brushed against the wall of a building and was arrested.

Nobody was injured and charges are still to be determined.
