Prince Rupert RCMP investigating fight involving teens, Mounties

Prince Rupert RCMP say it is now investigating a fight involving teens and Mounties after receiving a public complaint with regards to the actions of the police.

On Nov. 12, at approximately 12:50 a.m., Prince Rupert RCMP were called to a report of a fight in the 700-block of 2nd Avenue West. When Mounties arrived they did not find anyone fighting but they did find a 16-year-old boy in need of medical help.

The Mounties then called for an ambulance and say when it arrived, the teen allegedly became combative and tried to fight the paramedics and the police. Police say an 18-year-old female bystander also became combative and allegedly assaulted police while obstructing ambulance attendants.

She was arrested and taken into custody.

On Monday, RCMP were informed that a video of this incident has surfaced on social media and say they are trying to locate the person who shot the video and any other potential witnesses.
