Pedestrian dead after being struck by vehicle in Markham

A 69-year-old man is dead after being struck by two vehicles in Markham Saturday and police are looking to speak with witnesses who say the collision.

Emergency crews were called to the Mallory Avenue and Denison Street area, east of Kennedy Road, just before 4 p.m. with reports of a collision.

York Regional Police said the man was first struck by a beige Lexus travelling westbound and then struck by a black Volkswagen Jetta.

York Region Paramedic Services said he died at the scene.

Police closed Denison Street between Mallory Avenue and Aldergrove Drive for the investigation.
