It was a dangerous night for pedestrians in Surrey, leaving one man dead and a woman with serious injuries.
A 66-year-old man died when he was struck on King George Boulevard at 95 Avenue around 9 p.m. Wednesday. It is believed he was not in a crosswalk when he was hit.
He has not yet been identified.
Police say the driver stayed on the scene and is co-operating with police.
King George Boulevard was closed for some time but has since re-opened.
Investigators are asking anyone who witnessed the incident to call them.
This fatal accident followed an earlier incident near 148 Street at 105 Avenue. A woman is now in hospital with life-threatening injuries after being struck by a northbound car.
Witnesses say she had been in a marked crosswalk and the driver stayed at the scene.
