A 20-year-old man has died after suffering a gunshot wound to his upper body at approximately 10:20 p.m. Wednesday in Pierrefonds.

The victim was in a conflict with least one other person that took place at the corner of Ramsay street and Fredmir, according to Jean-Pierre Brabant, spokesperson for the Montreal Police.

The victim then got into a car with friends who saw a police vehicle and asked for help at the corner of Fredmir and Pierrefonds Boulevard. He was rushed to hospital, but died later of his injuries.

Police have set up perimeters at both scenes as part of their investigation.

Police are still trying to establish how many individuals were involved.

No arrests have been made.

This marks Montreal’s 20th homicide of the year.
