High-tech vGuide a resource for tourists at CN Tower, Jasper Tramway

TORONTO – For tourists visiting the CN Tower or the Jasper Tramway there’s a new high-tech way to take in the sights.

The two popular attractions have been experimenting with something called vGuide, a smartphone-like device that acts as a tour guide.

Users can swipe its screen to find stories and facts about the attractions and launch audio, video and graphics that complement a tour.

At the CN Tower, 10,000 visitors have tried the vGuide, which includes content in multiple languages. The technology has been in place since June at the Jasper Tramway, the highest and longest aerial tramway in Canada, which spans six mountain ranges, lakes, the Athabasca river and Jasper, Alta.

BpbZ, a partnership between Toronto-based BaAM Productions and Ireland-based ZolkC, is now looking to sell the vGuide across North America.
