Police believe they have located the truck involved in a fatal hit and run in southeast Calgary this weekend.

It happened in the 9200 block of 17 Avenue S.E. just after 11 p.m. on Saturday.

Investigators said a 54-year-old man was walking along the side of 17 Avenue S.E. when he was hit and killed by an eastbound vehicle.

The driver didn’t stay at the scene, prompting police to begin searching for a black Dodge Ram.

On Monday, police announced they had located the truck the day before.

Although police initially suspected the vehicle involved may have been stolen, they said Monday that wasn’t the case.

Officers are in the process of speaking with the owner of the truck.

As of 9 a.m. on Monday, no charges had been laid.
