A 26-year-old man has been given a seven-day jail sentence for driving four times the speed limit in a west Edmonton school zone last year.
Brodie Rae Christensen was handed his sentence Tuesday. He will also have his licence suspended for one year.
The jail term stems from an October 2015 incident when he was clocked by Edmonton police driving 122km/h in a 30km/h school zone.

The judge told court it was “disturbing” how fast Christensen was driving.
He told court Tuesday he was angry and frustrated with the slow pace of traffic, so he stepped on the gas and drove around the vehicle ahead of him before barrelling through the 30 km/h zone.
It happened on Oct. 2, 2015 near Sherwood School, in the area of 95 Avenue and 153 Street. At the time, police said the man had a graduated driver’s licence.
Christensen will serve his jail time on weekends.
Earlier this year, the City of Edmonton’s Community Services Committee voted unanimously to expand school zones to junior high schools.
