Miss Halloween? Head to your local Toronto park for a pumpkin parade

If you’re already missing the fun of Halloween, you can head down to one of 34 Toronto parks Tuesday evening as residents give their pumpkins a final send-off.

Originally started in 2004 at Sorauren Park in Toronto’s Roncesvalles neighbourhood, pumpkins are lit up and put on display for all to enjoy before being thrown out.

The idea has caught on and similar events are held in other cities such as Montreal and New York City.

Once the parade ends, the pumpkins can be disposed of in bins provided by the City of Toronto.
