A man is facing a number of charges after leading Saskatoon police officers on a short chase.

Early Sunday morning, patrol officers said they attempted to stop a vehicle with an unregistered license plate in the 1300-block of Avenue D North.

The driver refused to stop, leading officers on a short pursuit that ended in the rear alley in the 900-block of Avenue J North when the vehicle came to a sudden stop.

The driver and two passengers were taken into custody.

The 38-year-old driver is facing evading police and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle charges. He was also ticketed for driving while disqualified and operating a motor vehicle while unregistered.

The two passengers were released with no charges being laid.v
