UPDATE: Man sentenced in fatal Saskatoon stolen truck crash

The driver of a stolen truck attempting to evade Saskatoon police left a large hole in a fence by Bethlehem Catholic High School.

At around 4:20 a.m. CT on Sunday, officers noticed the stolen vehicle on the west side of the city. When police tried to stop it, the driver fled and a pursuit ensued.

Police said, in an attempt to evade them, the vehicle collided with the chain-link fence north of the school.

A 21-year-old man was taken to hospital with life threatening injuries.

A 20-year-old man is in police custody. He is facing numerous charges related to evading police, dangerous driving and firearms.
