Ward 5 is located in Regina’s east end. It has the biggest population of all the wards in the city, with more than 21,000 people calling it home. It is bordered to the north by the CP rail tracks and stretches from Park Street East to the city limits.

The ward is made up of a mixture of older neighbourhoods like Glencairn and rapidly expanding new neighbourhoods on its eastern edge. It’s also home to the busiest retail shopping area in Regina along Victoria Avenue East.

In 2012, incumbent John Findura picked up 48.1 per cent of the vote with former Ward 5 councillor Bill Gray receiving 30.6 per cent of the vote.
