Police say arrests have been made in a string of ATM thefts in Alberta.

In the first six months of 2016, there were more than 130 ATM thefts across the province, according to the Alberta Law Enforcement Response Teams. Some of the thefts were caught on video surveillance.

Police said two organized theft rings have been identified, allegedly linked to the crime trend and arrests have been made.

More than 60 communities have been affected by ATM thefts, which have led to severe damage and monetary loss at banks, credit unions, gas stations and convenience stores.
