A 68-year-old Barrhead man is dead following a two-vehicle collision north of Grande Prairie Monday morning.
Officers were called to a collision between a Jeep and a semi-truck at around 5:50 a.m. It happened on Highway 2 at the 100 Avenue access to Clairmont, Alta., about 10 kilometres north of Grande Prairie.

Police said the Jeep was heading west on 100 Avenue when it failed to stop at a red light at the Highway 2 intersection. The Jeep was struck by a northbound semi, police said in a media release Monday afternoon.
The 68-year-old driver of the Jeep was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries where he later died.
The driver of the semi, a 40-year-old Grande Prairie man, was not injured.
Highway 2 was shut down to traffic until about noon Monday.
The investigation is ongoing.
