The seventh annual B.C. Culture Days weekend will feature more than 600 free arts events around the province.
In West Kelowna, the community has come together with the Westbank First Nation to use art as a bridge between cultures.
The Okanagan aboriginal community is where the province launched the weekend event Friday night.
“Suk’ʷtəmsqilxʷ West Kelowna Arts Council is all about bringing the community artist together and allowing the community to know we exist, both the native and the non-native artists,” said council member Pat Derrickson.
Art, dance and music events take place in several B.C. communites and a full schedule can be viewed on the B.C. Culture Days website.
