WINNIPEG — October begins Saturday, and we are starting it off right in southern Manitoba.

This weekend we’ll see temperatures five to six degrees above normal for this time of year – and sunshine.

Unfortunately, the lovely weather won’t last into next week.

The next disturbance moves in by Monday evening and will bring unsettled weather as we kick off the first week of October.

Showers could begin Monday evening and by Wednesday we’ll be looking at periods of rain throughout the day.

In 2015 we saw nice temperatures to begin the month. October 1 we reached 20.2 C and followed that up with a couple of days around 18 C.

Many may also recall we hit 24.6 C on the Sunday during the Thanksgiving weekend.

There’s still hope we’ll see temperatures in the 20’s but we are running out of time for those days that still remind us of summer!
