Saskatoon city officials are advising drivers who use the eastbound off-ramp from Circle Drive North to Attridge Drive East to find another route on Thursday.

The off-ramp will be closed for a 12-hour period starting at 4 a.m. CT as crews complete tie-in work and final paving for the new ramp.

“We’re suggesting drivers take one of the alternate routes from Circle Drive to Attridge which include Preston Avenue, Central Avenue or McOrmond Drive,” said Dan Willems, the city’s director of major projects.

“This work will not affect the off-ramp from Circle Drive northbound to Preston Avenue for drivers taking this route to the University of Saskatchewan or Preston Crossing.”

The current off-ramp had to be realigned as part of the North Commuter Parkway project and includes upgrades and widening at Central Avenue and Attridge Drive to ease traffic congestion.

Once complete, there will be two dual left turn lanes for eastbound traffic on Attridge turning north onto Central.

“The next phase of work includes realignment of the right turning lane from Attridge Drive to Central Avenue northbound,” Willems said.

Work on that phase is expected to be done by the end of October.

Final work will have crews realign the concrete medians at the intersection, which is scheduled to be complete by November.
