Traffic restrictions are coming to the intersection of Diefenbaker Drive and 22nd Street West starting on Labour Day in Saskatoon.
Preliminary work is expected to take place from 6:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. CT on Monday, Sept. 5. A four-way stop will be posted as traffic control cable repairs are made.
The 10-week intersection improvement project will be done in phases to limit disruption to drivers.

Phase one includes the modification of east and west medians on 22nd Street to add protected left-hand turn bays. During the second phase, workers will reconstruct the southeast and southwest pedestrian islands.
On Tuesday, Sept. 6, other road restrictions will be phased-in. This will include east and west bound median lanes on 22nd Street closing near Diefenbaker and no left turns from 22nd eastbound.
Motorists are encouraged to detour using Confederation Drive or Fairlight Drive until the end of October.
The area was identified as a likely rapid transit corridor and the project is part of the city’s plan to increase accessibility.
