You may remember Canadian comedian Tom Green from movies such as Road Trip and Freddy Got Fingered, Charlie’s Angels or The Tom Green Show.
He’s currently on a stand-up comedy world tour and joined Global News Morning before his upcoming shows at Rumor’s Comedy Club.
“I love coming to Winnipeg,” Green said.
He started his own show on public access television in the 1990s and offered some advice for others wanting to try something different in their lives.

“I started doing stand-up comedy as a teenager… I followed my passion,” Green said. “It was 10 years of just trying and failing, and then failing again and finding some level of success.”
In 2000, Green was diagnosed with testicular cancer which he documented and wrote about in Hollywood Causes Cancer: The Tom Green Story.
“It’s changed my perspective in the world in a positive way, sometimes I think I wouldn’t trade my battle with cancer for anything really,” he said.
“I have people come to my show that are cancer survivors all the time, and we’ve sort of bonded on that.”
Green’s independent online talk show Tom Green’s House Tonight was one of the first live streaming talk shows for audiences around the world, which he broadcast from his homemade studio living room, where he interviewed numerous celebrities.
Now, he’s starting a new virtual reality talk show, which he just started filming.
“I’ve really enjoyed doing things with new technology… it’s kind of the next wave of the future,” he said.
Green is performing at Rumor’s on September 22, 23 and 24.
