Police are searching for three suspects after a 23-year-old man was fatally shot in Woodbridge, Ont., Wednesday night.

York Regional Police say officers responded to a weapons call around 10 p.m. at a residence on Andrea Lane near Pine Valley Drive and Langstaff Road.

Police say they located a man with gunshot wounds inside the home. He was pronounced dead soon after the arrival of paramedics.

Authorities say three male suspects were seen fleeing the area in a vehicle following the shooting.

Police have identified the victim as Silverio Feola. Neighbours tell Global News the man lived at home with his parents.

A resident who lives across the street said she rushed outside after hearing screams from the man’s father.

“I just ran across the road. He kept saying, ‘He’s shot. He’s dead,'” Piera Jones said.

Jones said she helped another neighbour perform CPR until paramedics arrived.

“I was holding his nose. There’s was no reaction. All we heard was a gurgle and that was it,” she said. “I’m feeling for the parents. They are very, very distraught.”

Police say the shooting was targeted and that there was no risk to the public.

Several neighbours told Global News it wasn’t uncommon to spot groups of people coming in and out of the home.

“They don’t look like normal people. If that make sense,” Nab Jamal said. “It’s just out of the ordinary because there’s like three or four individuals coming in and then coming out.”
