Wednesday afternoon the City of West Kelowna broke its silence on the results of a tight borrowing referendum.
Unofficial results, released over the weekend, showed that voters rejected borrowing $7.7-million for a new city hall by just 27 votes.
No one from the city made themselves available for an interview with Global Okanagan in the wake of the release of the preliminary results and rumors swirled that the city may have been conducting a recount.

Wednesday the city released the official results which were the same as the original numbers.
The chief election officer said the ballots were reviewed but not recounted because the city completely trusted the system that was in place.
A spokesperson for the group campaigning in favor of the borrowing said they are debating whether to ask for an official recount of the tight result.
