Surrey RCMP is hoping the public can help them figure out the movements and last known whereabouts of a woman who was found dead on May 17.
The remains of Deanna Desjarlais, 27, from Saskatoon, Sask., was found in Hawthorne Park in Surrey.

Surrey RCMP’s serious crime unit is now leading the investigation and working with police agencies from around B.C. to establish the circumstances leading up to her death. The BC Coroners Service is continuing to look into the cause of Desjarlais’ death, however nothing suspicious has been identified at this time.
Surrey RCMP is liaising with Desjarlais’ family and the diversity unit has been involved with respect to following traditional First Nations protocols surrounding the passing of a person and offering support.
Desjarlais is described as aboriginal, 5’4” tall, 126 lbs., with black hair, and brown eyes.
“Surrey RCMP is asking anyone who may have seen Desjarlais in the weeks leading up to May 17 to call us,” said Cpl. Scotty Schumann in a release.
“If we can determine her movements during this time, it may assist us in determining what ultimately led to her unfortunate death.”
