Suspect facing charges after man shot in Prince Albert, Sask.

Police say they are charging a 21-year-old Prince Albert, Sask., man in connection with a shooting this past weekend.

At around 6:25 a.m. CT on Sept. 17, officers were called to a reported shooting at Victoria Hospital in the city.

Investigation revealed a 24-year-old man had been shot earlier while in the 800-block of 2nd Street East. He was last reported to be in stable condition.

Police arrested the suspect a short time later.

He faces charges that include attempted murder while using a prohibited firearm, robbery using a firearm, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, firearm possession contrary to prohibition order and breach of probation.

The accused is expected to appear in Prince Albert provincial court Monday morning.
