Peel Regional Police arrested a second suspect with connection to the shooting of a Domino’s Pizza employee in Brampton last month.

Police said a 24-year-old male employee was shot in the chest on Aug. 13 around 11:30 p.m. following a robbery attempt at the fast food restaurant located on Wexford Road near Bovaird Drive.

“This was a vicious, cowardly, unnecessary attack. A young student was working, trying to put his way through school and was shot and nearly died. He is suffering life-altering injuries,” Det. Sgt. Donny Ross told reporters on Monday.

Authorities said two male suspects involved in the shooting left with an undisclosed amount of money.

Following the robbery, police said a 17-year-old male showed up at a Toronto-area hospital with a minor gunshot wound.

Investigators later discovered he was one of the two suspects wanted in connection with the Domino’s Pizza robbery.

The teenager was subsequently arrested and charged with robbery, disguise with intent and attempted murder.

Ross said the second suspect, identified as 21-year-old Adrian Walker, was arrested without incident on Sept. 14 at the same plaza where the shooting took place.

“He came out of one of the convenient stores when he was arrested,” Ross said. “He has ties to both Brampton and Toronto. He’s got places where he can stay in both.”

Police said Walker, who was known to police, was linked to five other robberies in Toronto and Peel Region. A 17-year-old male youth was arrested on Aug. 16 in connection to those cases.

“There were two retail and three ‘punk-off style’ robberies — where citizens walking in the street or in a park are approached and robbed,” Ross said.

Police said no other suspects are wanted in connection to the shooting or the robberies.
