The Amalgamated Transit Union (ATU) Local 615 issued 48 hour job action notice late Friday afternoon in its dispute with the City of Saskatoon.
After 48 hours, a strike is possible.

The decision to issue notice came a day after members gave ATU Local 615 99.4 per cent support for job action.
A statement on the union’s website reads: “We have made ourselves available to meet with the employer and are optimistic we can negotiate an agreement prior to initiating any form of job action.”
Saskatoon Transit service disruptions can begin as early as Sunday at 5 p.m. CT, according to city officials.
“We are disappointed to receive strike notice since we have been bargaining all week and have made significant progress,” Marno McInnes, the city’s director of human resources, said in a news release.
“We have narrowed the gap between the parties and just provided the Transit union with another offer,” he said.
Wages and pension have been the core issues throughout the dispute. Saskatoon bus drivers have been without a contract since 2012.
