R-C-M-P have laid more charges against an elderly man who allegedly kidnapped a young neighbour in an urban area of Sheila, New Brunswick.

The 71-year-old man, who isn’t being named to protect the boy’s identity, was charged with abduction of a person under the age of 14 and forcible confinement when he appeared in Tracadie Provincial Court yesterday.

He had earlier been charged with kidnapping and assault.

Police say the boy’s parents were searching for their missing son when he fled the house of a neighbour who allegedly lured the child from his backyard while he was riding his bike.
