Banff RCMP look for suspect, witnesses in overnight assault

RCMP in Banff hope to identify a suspect who they say physically assaulted a woman earlier this week in the Alberta town.

On the morning of Sept. 12, officers received a complaint of an assault that happened on Caribou Street and Beaver Street between the hours of 1 a.m. and 2 a.m.

The suspect is described as a tall man with brown hair. He was wearing a dark oversized hoodie at the time of the incident.

RCMP said in a release he was not known to the woman.

Two witnesses, who intervened and helped the victim, have not yet come forward.

The woman was released from hospital after being treated for superficial injuries, RCMP told Global News.
