Nine Edmonton restaurants have been included in a new list of the top 100 restaurants in Canada.
OpenTable, an online restaurant reservation and review service, revealed its 100 Best Restaurants for Foodies in Canada for 2016.
The list is based on more than 300,000 restaurant reviews by OpenTable diners for more than 1,800 restaurants.

The Edmonton restaurants are Canteen, Ernest’s at NAIT, Hardware Grill, Louisiana Purchase, The Marc, Red Ox Inn, Sabor Restaurant, Solstice Seasonal Cuisine, and Tzin Wine & Tapas.
OpenTable said foodies are enjoying eateries that are offering new and unique dining experiences.
“This list serves as a guide for locals looking to venture beyond their usual fare and travellers wanting to indulge in one of the many eateries defining Canada as a global dining destination,” OpenTable Canada’s Ziv Schierau said.

Alberta had the second most restaurants on the list with 22, behind Ontario which had 45. Eight of Canada’s 10 provinces had restaurants that cracked the list.
OpenTable said Italian fare was the most popular, with Canadian and French cuisines ranking second and third respectively. Restaurants specializing in small plates/tapas, contemporary French and global/international cuisines were also represented on the list.
