Police have made an arrest after a disturbing incident in South Vancouver Wednesday morning.
Officers were called to the 5300-block of Sherbrooke Street in the Sunset neighbourhood just after 2 a.m.
When they arrived, they found a 57-year-old woman in distress as she had woken up to find a man in her bedroom. The man allegedly attempted to sexually assault the woman before he was scared off by others living in the home.
The woman was not physically harmed.
A 17-year-old man was taken into custody this morning. He is known to Vancouver Police.
It is still very early in the investigation and detectives continue to interview witnesses and gather evidence to support criminal charges.
