Uncle Sam hit rapper Nelly with a jaw-dropping $2,412,283 federal tax lien in August and the tab is so big that the IRS could start seizing his assets and property.

This isn’t the first time the St. Louis rapper has endured tax trouble — earlier this year he owed $113,533 in unpaid state taxes from 2013 but that figure had gone up to $149,511 due to accrued interest and additional fees, according to the Missouri Department of Revenue.

It’s been reported that Nelly is currently working with tax authorities to help resolve the issue.

As the rapper faces one of the biggest celebrity tax scandals in history, according to TMZ, many people can’t help but make reference to Nelly’s unfortunate Dilemma.

In fact, loyal fans are so distraught over the news, they’ve taken to Twitter to create the hashtag #SaveNelly; the goal is to help the rapper pay off his federal tax debt.

This isn’t the first celebrity who has been involved in an “iffy” situation with Uncle Sam.

Rapper Tyga has had his share of legal drama recently with multiple cars being repossessed. According to a federal tax lien, the rapper owed $11,201 for 2009, $4,437 for 2010, and $76,008 for 2011.

The IRS also accused former Real Housewives of Atlanta star NeNe Leakes of refusing to pay a total of $824,366.01 in back taxes for the year 2014.

Stephen Baldwin has also had collectors at his doorstep — twice. Back in 2012 he was arrested for dodging his tax returns from 2008, 2009, 2010 and ordered to pay the state of New York $350,000. In 2015 he owed $30,000 to the state of New York, with another $60,000 to Uncle Sam.

In 2013, the IRS accused Lauryn Hill of failing to pay $1 million in back taxes. She was eventually charged with tax evasion and sentenced to three months in federal prison. In July of this year, several media outlets reported Hill was caught up in tax troubles once again.

The 41-year-old took to social media to assure everyone that the reported issues were not new and claimed they are part of her previous tax issues, which she is still trying to resolve.

According to The New York Daily Newsa tax judgment filed on June 30, 2016 states that the former Fugees artist still owes $438,211. The state of New Jersey documents also show there is an open tax lien from 2012 for $4446,386.60 under her name.
