An up-and-coming digital artist from Calgary has been identified as the second victim in a deadly three-vehicle collision on Highway 9 and Township Road 270 on Tuesday.

Alec Bracegirdle, 20, was with well-known Starbelly chef, Jonathan Sobol, who also died in the crash. Sobol was 33 years old.

The two were on their way to shoot some promotional video for the Starbelly restaurant website when the collision occurred.

Bracegirdle had been working as a video/audio editor-producer and creative assistant with Calgary-based web developer and marketer A Solid Site.

A spokesperson for A Solid Site released this statement in response to the news of Bracegirdle’s passing:

“Alec was always there early and leaving late. His natural aptitude was inspiring. He showed an incredible amount of promise and his loss has crushed our entire team.”

The collision is still under investigation.
