Toronto Raptors to face Warriors in Vancouver, then Nuggets in Calgary

Stephen Curry and the star-studded Golden State Warriors will take on the Toronto Raptors in a pre-season game in Vancouver as part of the annual NBA Canada Series.

The game, which will also mark the Warriors debut of superstar Kevin Durant, will take place Oct.1 as part of the Raptors’ preparations for the 2016-17 season.

Toronto, featuring the all-star guard combo of DeMar DeRozan and Kyle Lowry, will also face the Denver Nuggets in Calgary on Oct. 3.

This will be the third straight season that Toronto plays an exhibition game in Vancouver. Last season the Raptors beat the Los Angeles Clippers 93-73 at Rogers Arena behind 26 points from Lowry.

The game in Calgary will feature the pre-season debut of Canadian guard Jamal Murray, who was selected seventh overall by the Nuggets at the 2016 draft.

The Raptors are coming off their most successful NBA season. They set a franchise record with 56 regular-season wins ain 2015-16 and reached the Eastern Conference final for the first time.

Toronto also hosted the NBA all-star game for the first time in 2016, with DeRozan and Lowry representing the Eastern Conference.

The Raptors kick off their regular season Oct. 26 against the Detroit pistons at Air Canada Centre.
